We were looking for a bed that would fit under our window and there were not as many frames available under that height in the style we were looking for but this one fit perfectly. With a slight modification from our original plan. This bed was exactly what we are looking for. The description says the bed is a platform bed and no box spring is needed, while you can use this bed with just a mattress, I would recommend adding a box spring. We removed the bed slats and replaced with a 9" metal box spring. This accompanied with a 10" memory foam mattress leaves this mattress at the perfect height. I absolutely love the bed and the color. However, came with no directions for putting together the support structure. Additionally, the mattress fits so tightly within the bed frame that you cannot tuck the sheets under it; they all needed to be tucked in between the mattress and the frame by squeezing your hand in to push them down. I don't have very big hands, but I wound up with scratches all over them anyway from the extreme tight fit.
