I love the simplicity of this console. It was very easy to assemble, only legs to attach. The packaging was exceptional, so it arrived undamaged. I took one star away due to the fact that it has quite a bit more sheen than the photos show. It appeared to have a matte finish, which is what I wanted. This has a satin sheen for sure. I purchased this table at an already discounted price. Was delivered within a few days, and FedEx guy happily wheeled the box into my house, and into my entry so I could unpack and easily assemble. We moved the box onto my nearyby area rug, and we took GREAT care in unpacking (PS -- the unpacking process is SERIOUS -- a LOT of double-cardboard, styrofoam and packing materials.). Once unpacked, we were EXTREMLY careful about assembling. It did take longer than expected to get the parts snug and able to install all screws/bolts. After we flipped the table over and moved it into position in the entry, we saw there were several light scratches on the top of the table. I am sure that once we have a lamp , accessories, etc. sitting on top nobody will notice unless I pointed it out, but I certainly was disappointed at the amount of scratches. I am 100% sure there is NO way we caused these scratches during assembly. We were SOOOO careful, and unpacked and assembled it on CARPET!!! But to return this table to Joss & Main would be impossible -- no way to unassemble everything, repack, return. Will contact Customer Service to see if there is any way for an additional discount if I agree to keep it. Lastly, I do like the entry table. Love this table. It is a true black and what I mean by that is to my eye, there are often 2 main types of black. One has a brownish hue, and the other is a darker blue-black (at least that's what I call it). It's not blue AT ALL, but in comparison to true black pillows I put in the picture for comparison, this table is what I call a true black. Of course, everything depends on lighting. My picture is not in a room with windows or natural daylight, so keep that in mind when considering my picture and perception. The only thing I would prefer, is that it be offered in a bit taller and longer sizes as well, but for the great price, it is solid and sturdy and looks as though it was from one of the higher end stores. Also, I put it together quickly myself and I'm not handy. The 8 screws total for each leg were perfect. And the graining isn't really as visible as it appears on my picture, it's the lighting - which again, depends.
