It is a pretty wool rug but it is thin and much darker in person than the photo depicts. I thought I was getting a beige/greige rug but this is definitely more on the darker grey side. Since it is wool it does have a “wool” smell and it sheds. I wanted to love it since the cost to return is expensive but so is the rug so I will be returning,. Marissa. Was glad I trusted the other reviews. Rug is luxurious with regard to the colour, the texture, the thickness, and the quality of the wool. No smell when unrolled. Colour is between a light and medium grey and is beautiful. Backing of the rug shows blue but no blue tones in the grey. It’s a pure grey (no brown tones either).
