Pieces inside globe would not line up so bulb/globe/everything looks misaligned. Piece that you screw in to cover bulb insert and hold globe in place will never sit straight. Would make more sense to create lip at top of glass to slide into housing so it sits nicely. Glass also has a lot of bubbles in it. Would not recommend if you have to see them everyday off centered..
