I have terrible sleep issues but realized on a recent resort stay that I slept all night in a totally dark room. I searched several sites for what I needed and determined that these blackout curtains from Joss and Main solved all of the issues. First, I already had blinds on the windows that go both up and down that I wanted to keep. Second, I wanted some of the trim on my windows to not be covered. Third, I had a glass door that leads to the porch that needed night time cover but able to be a usable door during the day. Fourth, I needed tie-backs for during the day. Fifth, I did not want to use decorative rods. Take a look at all 6 photos to see the results. Drape 6 will show you how dark my room is at night - the only thing you will see in the photo is the red digital time display on my bedside clock! I have slept ALL night for the past 3 nights. I am able to use the blinds for whatever amount of privacy I need (live on a golf course). I bought an extra panel and made tiebacks. A slight bit of sewing - nothing but straight stitching - to make the rod pocket a bit smaller to use rods that are made for room darkening drapes that curve around the sides for total darkening and the tie backs.
