I bought this hoping my adjustable frame would fit in it and with some modifications, it did! We removed the brackets on the inside headboard and footboard as well as the pieces on the inside of the sides of the frame. That allowed just enough movement for our adjustable frame to move freely. Highly recommend. NOTE - might have implied that you do not need a box spring, but you do (especially if you have a memory foam mattress). I recommend a 4" profile box spring, or 1 piece of plywood.
