This floor lamp was a perfect piece to brighten up the room. The black and gold gave it a nice bold look and the design stood out from the typical boring floor lamps which made it look like an art piece. Having the ability to swivel the lamp in a certain direction was useful when reading on the couch or just to brighten up the whole room. Having 2 people with an assembly is helpful, but not completely necessary. The arm pieces were arched so it can be tricky when attaching the pieces with just one person. The base is a heavy solid piece so you don't need to worry about it tipping over, but again helpful with another person helping screw pieces together. We're extremely happy with our purchase!.
